Therefore, the story chronologically continues from Volume 15.
Alright, let's get started.
SUMMARY
Continuing with the events after the fall of the Kingdom, Ainz Ooal Gown finds himself in a state of severe mental exhaustion. Not only does he have to manage the expansion of the Sorcerer Kingdom, but he also feels guilty seeing Aura and Mare working tirelessly. Ainz thinks to himself: "If this continues, I'll be a terrible boss and an even worse father".
Thus, Ainz devises a master plan to escape his responsibilities. He calls a meeting and tells a white lie to Albedo and Demiurge, stating that he needs to travel to the Elf Kingdom to "recover lost pharmaceutical techniques". However, his true desire is simply to take a vacation and teach the twins how to make friends, something they cannot learn in the solitude of Nazarick.
To ensure a peaceful trip, Ainz selects a small team. He decides not to take Albedo (to avoid her intensity) or Shalltear. The group consists of Aura, Mare, and Ainz, who adopts a new fake identity to go unnoticed. Ainz tries hard to act like a normal uncle/father, although internally he suffers from social anxiety every time he has to interact with strangers without his "Supreme King" mask.
Then, upon arriving at the Great Sea of Trees, the group realizes the terrible reality. The Elf Kingdom is being systematically massacred by the Slane Theocracy. Human soldiers advance, burning villages and enslaving elves, dangerously approaching the capital. Ainz, true to his pragmatic style, decides to ignore the war at first, since it is not his problem, and focuses on finding a safe place for his vacation.
Meanwhile, they manage to infiltrate a Dark Elf refugee village. A long section of coexistence takes place here. Ainz, desperate to look good in front of the twins, tries to teach them alchemy and cooking but fails comically on several occasions. The local dark elves see Ainz as an "eccentric and somewhat clumsy magic caster", having no idea that they are dining with Death Incarnate.
Subsequently, the situation changes. The Black Scripture, Humanity's most powerful elite unit, launches its final assault on the elven capital. Ainz decides it is time to move, not out of heroism, but because he believes the Elf King might have valuable items left behind by former Players.
Upon arriving at the Royal Palace, the Elf King, Decem Hougan, appears and shows himself to be an absolute sociopath, as he despises "inferior beings" and only cares about his own bloodline. Seeing Aura and Mare enter, his eyes light up, not out of fear, but out of lust and greed. Decem shouts: "Finally! Worthy specimens! You will give birth to my strongest children!".
Faced with such provocation, Ainz maintains a calm exterior, but inside he is furious. Decem, believing himself a god, attacks first. He summons a Behemoth (Level 87), a creature capable of wiping out armies. Ainz, analyzing the situation like a veteran player, thinks: "Is this it? It's just a standard summon".
However, to extract information from him, Ainz pretends to be weak during the first few minutes of combat. He lets himself be hit and acts afraid. Decem falls into the trap and begins to monologue about his treasures and his father (a former Player). Once Ainz gets the information he wanted, his attitude changes. With a sigh of boredom, he nullifies Decem's magic, destroys the Behemoth with a single blow, and paralyzes the King.
After that, Ainz leaves the Elf King lying on the ground, crying and begging for his life. Ainz calls Mare and coldly tells him: "Finish him". Mare, with his usual innocent face, raises his staff and crushes Decem's skull without hesitation, putting an end to the Elf King's lineage.
On the other hand, and while Ainz was busy, Mare crosses paths in the palace hallways with Zesshi Zetsumei (Antilene). Zesshi, who has an obsession with finding a man stronger than herself to conceive offspring, evaluates the dark elf. Not initially perceiving him as a worthy threat due to his childlike appearance, she decides to eliminate him quickly to continue her mission.
So, Zesshi unleashes her full offensive potential. She uses her special Talent, the Einherjar (an exact copy of herself created with magic and physical abilities), and launches an offensive at blinding speed. Mare, forced to defend himself, takes actual damage in the exchange. Faced with the elf's unexpected resistance, Zesshi decides to immediately resort to her trump card: the scythe of the God of Death, Surshana.
Surprisingly, Zesshi activates TGOALID (The Goal of All Life is Death). The air is filled with the aura of instant death that Ainz used against Shalltear. The clock ticks down the 12 seconds to death. Mare, following Ainz's paranoid training, activates the automatic resurrection spell Phoenix.
When the dust settles and Mare instantly revives, Zesshi's mind breaks. She cannot understand how someone survived her ultimate attack. Mare, now serious and unsmiling, unleashes the spell "Petite Catastrophe". The twisted nature magic crushes Zesshi against the ground, breaking her ribs and limbs with a crunching sound. Zesshi tries to get up, but Mare strikes her again, leaving her unconscious and defeated.
Once the battle is over, the Theocracy retreats in panic upon losing contact with their best card. Ainz and the twins loot the Elf Kingdom's treasury, recovering several world-class items and high-level equipment. Then, they return triumphantly to Nazarick with their prisoner: Zesshi Zetsumei.
Some time later, deep within Nazarick, Ainz stands before a chained and mentally broken Zesshi after she has gone through the hands of the torturer Neuronist. Ainz uses mind control magic to dive into her deepest memories.
This way, Ainz witnesses the key memory: the exact moment when the Black Scripture encountered Shalltear years ago. He hears their orders, sees their faces, and confirms that they used the Kailis (World Item) to control his "daughter".
In the end, all the Floor Guardians are summoned to the Throne Room. With all his subordinates kneeling before him, Ainz unleashes his aura, saturating the environment with his power, and begins to speak with absolute coldness:
"The Slane Theocracy is responsible for what happened to Shalltear. I do not seek their submission. I do not seek their territory. My order is absolute: Extermination. I want you to destroy that country to the ground, kill every citizen, and erase their name from history. Let nothing remain!".
Upon hearing that, Albedo and Demiurge's eyes shine with ecstasy and bloodlust as they finally receive a clear order of total annihilation. So the Guardians immediately begin logistical and military preparations to mobilize Nazarick's forces.
In this way, the new course of action for the Sorcerer Kingdom is established, setting aside any attempt at diplomacy to focus exclusively on the imminent invasion and systematic destruction of the Slane Theocracy.
