Chapter 217: The girlfriend and paradise - Part 30
Continuing with the events of the last chapter, Chizuru shows a serious
look as she tells Mami that she is crossing the line by wanting to tell
Grandma Nagomi the truth without telling Kazuya, since, after all, he is
the only one who can decide when that "lie" involving them should
end.
"In fact, time and time again.... he has tried to tell the truth!"
exclaims Chizuru.
As the seconds tick by, Mami just remains silent, as Chizuru tells her
that she is right that the lie cannot continue and that, if she wants an
apology, then she has one. And before Chizuru says anything else, she
begins to remember when Grandma Nagomi told her that she now has a new
family.
In this way, Chizuru's eyes begin to fill with tears as she says, "But
the way all this puts a smile on Nagomi-san's face..... Am I the only one
who thinks this is all real!?".
Once again, Mami falls silent, as Chizuru demands her to answer.
"So this is what you've become... after lying day after day constantly,"
Mami says.
Now the one who remains silent is Chizuru, as Mami tells her that
apparently they both have different views on what lying is, because even
if that "lie" makes a person happy, it will only be a momentary thing,
because the moment it is discovered, that person will be miserable.
As Chizuru shows a worried face, Mami looks at her coldly and tells her
that every lie is bad, no matter who tells it.
Seconds later, Mami grabs Chizuru's hand and tries to take her away, but
Chizuru, in one swift movement, breaks free from her grip and says, "I'm
sorry.... but I can't go! Just give me one more chance and let's talk
about this, Mami-san!"
"That hurt," Mami replies with a cold stare as she rubs her hand.
Then, Chizuru tells her that she can't go with her and asks her to please
not tell the truth. And as she continues to speak, she begins to bow her
head and says, "Please, I beg you! Please, please... Mami-san!".
