The official website of the anime KonoSuba!, adaptation of the light novel written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima, has revealed that the series will have a third season, of which more information will be provided soon. Also, a first promotional image has been published, where we can see the four main characters: Kazuma, Aqua, Megumin and Darkness.
The cast of the previous seasons will return for this new animated adaptation.
Takaomi Kanasaki will be the general director, while Yujiro Abe will direct the anime under the Drive animation studio. Makoto Uezu will compose the series and Koichi Kikuta will design the characters.
The light novel was first published in October 2013 and ended in May 2020 with volume 17, and received an anime adaptation in 2016, followed by a second adaptation in 2017. It was also adapted into a movie, which was released in August 2020.
